A very graphic post.

My cover.

“What am I going to do with my life?”

I was getting close to 40 and I’d been asking the question for about 10 years. I’d also been reading everything I could on the subject (I’d lost count somewhere around book 20).

It hit me that reading about changing your life and actually doing something about it were VERY different things. It was time to do something…40 was getting closer.
Within a couple of months my life started getting on track and now, a little over 10 years later (I turned 50 a few weeks ago) life is good.

A couple of years ago I started thinking that it was time I gave back. I wanted to share what I’d learned – both by research and by experience, but I wanted to share it in a fun way that I would have found accessible when I was in my twenties and thirties.

The answer was a graphic novel; the problem was that I can’t draw. The more I thought about it though, the more I was convinced that a graphic novel was the way to go. I took my own advice and faced this problem directly.

Almost two years later and a huge number of twists and turns later, my graphic novel is finally moving into production. Working with the skills I did have instead of complaining about the skills I lacked, I’m creating something new and VERY exciting.

RUTHLESS! A Pirate’s Guide to Gettin’ Yer Goald is on it’s way.

Last week I launched a crowdfunding campaign and within a day I’m already gathering backers – the gratitude is pretty intense over here. :)
